  • Saewon "Kimmy” Kim is a distinguished figure in the world of music education and entertainment, serving as the president of Rhythm NY Music School. Holding a master's degree in Music Education from Columbia University, Teachers College, Saewon brings over two decades of teaching experience to her role. Her dedication to fostering musical talent and creativity in her students is reflected in the school's reputation for excellence.

    Beyond her educational endeavors, Saewon Kimmy Kim is the founder of Kimmy Kim Entertainment, a prominent service provider offering DJ and MC services for a wide range of events including weddings, corporate gatherings, and birthday parties. With 15 years of experience as a DJ, she is celebrated for her ability to curate memorable experiences through music.

  • Originally from Lexington, Massachusetts, Matthew Schwartz is a New York City-based alto and soprano saxophonist, flutist, educator, and composer. He has been teaching private lessons in the NYC and Boston areas for 15 years. A graduate of both NYU and Queens College, Matthew draws his musical and educational inspiration from his past and current teachers as well as from jazz legends such as Johnny Hodges, Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley, and Duke Ellington.

    He has studied with several notable musicians in the jazz communities of Boston and New York City, including Ron McClure, the late Lew Soloff (both of the jazz-rock band Blood, Sweat & Tears), and saxophonists Antonio Hart, Ralph Lalama, Dave Pietro, and Grace Kelly. Matthew has performed on 88.3 WBGO Jazz Radio, in venues around the world, and has conducted student groups performing his arrangements at Lincoln Center. He has also led several students to top-scoring NYSSMA and major band festival performances, and successful auditions for city-wide student ensembles.

  • Daniel Emond is a full-time musician, composer, and music educator based in Astoria. His rock opera, KILL THE WHALE, inspired by Moby-Dick, has been developed at prominent venues including Joe's Pub, Yaddo, Montclair State University Peak Performances, the Polyphone Festival, SPACE on Ryder Farm, Corkscrew Festival, NYU, the Melville bi-Centennial Conference, and Nantucket Theatre Workshop. The project has garnered support from the American Theatre Wing, the Saw Recording Grants, and the NYFA.

    Emond’s other notable composing credits include the multi-lingual score for the International Production of Neil Bartlett’s The Plague at the Hong Kong Arts Festival in 2021, and the folk musical DAWN at Signature Theatre. In 2022, he workshopped a dream musical about Freud as an artist-in-residence at Culture Lab at the Plaxall Gallery and at the Good Hart Residency in Michigan. This work will be showcased in concert at Adelphi University on September 14th, 2024.

  • June Kim, a graduate of EWHA Womans University in Korea and Cornell University with a BA in music, brings over 10 years of teaching experience to her role as a violin and viola instructor. Known for her patient and tailored approach, June nurtures her students' talents, fostering both technical proficiency and a deep appreciation for music. Her dedication has guided many students to success in competitions and performances, while her ongoing performance career enriches her teaching with firsthand insight from the stage.

  • Jonathan graduated from Aaron Copaland School of Music in Queens College with a BA degree and has dedicated the past decade to teaching music. His expertise lies primarily in clarinet instruction, where he has nurtured countless students in developing their musical talents. Jonathan's passion for music education is evident in his patient approach and commitment to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of music in his students. He continues to inspire through his teaching, aiming to instill both technical proficiency and a love for music that lasts a lifetime.

  • Robin Kevin Daniel started his career as a professional singer in Italy. Playing and touring the country thoroughly with local bands such as Big Ben Shout, The Blue Flames Trio (also as the bassist), Rough Cane Sugar and more.

    Jazz is a fundamental part of his evolution as a singer and songwriting has always been one of his main activities. In August 2015 he made NYC his home and there he is currently enrolled in a MM in Jazz performing at the Queens College and keeps developing his musical skills, growing his fan base and creating new musical collaborations.

    Finally, after years of ripening, Flying Robin Project's first fruit is born. Robin is recording his first studio album in the city and meanwhile his work is being introduced to the audiences of both U.S. and Europe with a small series of gigs in preparation for a 2017 spring tour.

  • Grace Chun is studying for a master's degree in violin at the Manhattan school of music. She was awarded the1st prize at the National Youth Music Competition and 2nd prize overall at the Hwa Lang International Music Competition and Gracias National Music Competition. Additionally, she has performed in Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, German and many major cities throughout the United States.

  • Cellist Eunkyeong Chun is currently pursuing her graduate studies at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, under Marcy Rosen. She has won 1st prize at the New York International Music Competition, London International Music Competition, and Charleston International Music Competition, as well as the Grand Prize at the 3rd National Gracias Music Competition, 1st prize at the 6th City Philharmonic Orchestra National Music Competition, and 1st prize at the Haneum National Music Competition, among many other competitions. Additionally, she has performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, United Palace Theater, Fox Theater, Seoul Civil Public Square, Sejong Cultural Art Center, Manhattan Center, New Orleans Saenger Theatre, and the Detroit Masonic Temple as a member of the Gracias Orchestra.

  • Originally hailing from Japan, Guitarist Hajime Yoshida is one of the most sophisticated guitarists, accompanists and composers in New York City.

    Mr. Yoshida has completed bachelor’s degree in jazz performance at University of North Texas in 2009, and master’s degree in jazz performance at Aaron Copland School of Music in 2011. Mr. Yoshida has been open minded music instructor since 2004 and teaching all genres for all ages. 

    As a performer, he has worked with Grammy award winning Cory Henry, Keita Ogawa, Philip Lassiter, and Tony award/Pulitzer award winner Michael R. Jackson and many more. Mr. Yoshida has performed in the world-renowned venues such as Lincoln Center and Joe’s Pub/Public Theater.

  • Yahan Chang is a dedicated vocal faculty member at Rhythm NY Music School, bringing her expertise and passion for singing to students since 2009. She holds a degree from Taipei National University of Arts and furthered her studies in studio musical theater at AMDA in New York City. Beyond her role as an educator, Yahan is an accomplished Broadway actress actively performing in the vibrant theater scene of New York City. Her dual commitment to teaching and performing enriches her students' learning experiences, offering them insights from both academic training and professional stage performance. Yahan Chang continues to inspire aspiring vocalists with her knowledge, talent, and dedication to the arts.

  • Daniel Silva is a distinguished drum teacher renowned for his expertise in jazz performance. A graduate of Queens College with a master's degree in Jazz Performance, Daniel's passion for drumming, arranging, and composing has defined his illustrious career. His mastery of rhythm and musical composition has earned him acclaim in both educational and performance circles. Known for his innovative teaching methods and dedication to his craft, Daniel inspires students with his deep knowledge and infectious enthusiasm for jazz. As a versatile musician, arranger, and composer, he continues to leave an indelible mark on the world of music.

  • Tal Kalman, a saxophonist, woodwind double, and composer based in New York City. After graduating with honors from the Thelma Yellin National High School of the Arts, he was selected to participate in the prestigious Brubeck Institute Fellowship program, becoming the first non-American student to achieve this honor. In 2022, Kalman earned his honors Bachelors of music degree in Jazz Studies from the University of the Pacific. He subsequently received his Master’s degree in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music in 2024, where he was awarded the Jazz Department Award. Throughout his early career, Kalman has garnered numerous accolades and recognitions, including the DownBeat Award for Best Soloist and the DownBeat Award for Best Arrangement. He has performed on renowned stages globally, such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo, Dizzy’s Club in New York, Théâtre du Gymnase Marie Bell in Paris, the Rex in Toronto, the Monterey Jazz Festival in California, and the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Eilat, among others. In 2019, Kalman released his debut album, “Even Odds.” Currently, he performs regularly with his quartet on various stages throughout the city.
